On December 6 2021, Tyrecycle opened their new tyre recycling facility with ELDAN machinery at Erskine Park, NSW, Australia.

The ceremony was witnessed by special guests, the Hon Sussan Ley MP, Minister for the Environment, Assistant Minister Trevor Evans and NSW EPA Chair, Rayne de Gruchy. ELDAN’s own area sales manager for Australia, Carsten Nielsen, also witnessed the ceremony.

Tyrecycle secured AUD 2.9 million in funding for a AUD 5.8 million expansion project at Erskine Park. This facility will provide the upgrade from 6 inch to 1.5-inch TDF, provide steel cleaning facilities and introduce OTR processing and debeading.

In addition to creating new products and accessing more varied markets, Tyrecycle will now be able to redirect up to 3200 tonnes of waste OTR tyres per annum from on-site disposal, landfill, or overseas exports, creating crumbed product for use in road construction and various manufactured rubber-based products.
